We are given enough heart to hate
But never enough to love
We can never trust somebody enough
Because they could break our hearts
We don't know how to say a confident "hello"
But we are always ready to say "good bye"
It has always been an eye for an eye
But never a heart to heart
We trust for comfort
Respect for our own sake
Care to be cared
And cry to be cried with
At the end of the day, we are still going to be pawns...
In life's grand scheme

In life's grand scheme
It's really just a short and simple poem I put together before going to sleep. I'm awfully tired and did not think I would be able to get all of my homework finished so early! Nonetheless, despite the cynicism in the poem (Aah yes, I have been extremely cynical as of late -- it's teribble, really), I hope you enjoyed my work and do let me know what you think! Thank you!
